Johnny was a true SALSERO who encouraged local musicians such as Paul Dougherty and me. He was endlessly encouraging through his words, deeds and smiles. It was always nice to run into Johnny and his beautiful, wonderful wife during an occasional salsa performance.
My condolences to the surviving relatives and friends.

John you will be truly missed. You were a man who enjoyed life, people, and everyday. You have touched so many lives, all in a positive and uplifting way. Everyday you gave your best for family, friends and community. I thank you for your time shared , your advice given, and all the laughs we have had. I thank you for your beautiful daughter, my wife Jenny whom I will always treat like a princess, as you did. I thank you for all you have done and continue to do for our son Jayden, you will always be a very big part of him! You are a true gentleman. Untill we meet again, Love ya -Andy

Dad, you will always be my hero, my mentor, my friend and my heart. Words cannot express how proud I am to be your daughter. You have always been the greatest father and grandfather. Although I will miss you enormously, I take some comfort in knowing you're looking out for us and Jayden. I love you and I know my heart will ache until I see you again. God bless you, dad. I love you!!!

One of my first and funny memories of Johnny was at a family party. It was in Papo's house in NJ and it was the first time I was going to meet the bulk of Wachi's family. On the way there Wachi told me there was this family member, Johnny, who always busted his chops because he would show up with different girls to the family functions. Well thank God I was the last, but needless to say, Johnny did make a joke about it when I met him. He told Wachi, "Otra!!" I thought it was hysterical! Nevertheless Johnny was always so sweet to me and my family. I am thankful my last memory of him was celebrating Chelsea's Sweet 16 with us. I will always remember your smile! Rest in Peace...
