Van Gieson – Lucy (nee De Padova), 78, of Little Falls, died on Feb. 7, 2010 at home.
Born in Paterson, Mrs. Van Gieson lived in Little Falls for 70 years. Before her retirement, she was employed with the Little Falls School System for over 20 years.
Mrs. Van Gieson was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Angels R.C. Church in Little Falls and volunteered for many years at Eva's Kitchen in Paterson.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Clark Van Gieson on Nov. 9, 2009 and one son, Joseph M. Van Gieson on Nov. 22, 2001.
Survivors include: one son, John E. Van Gieson of Little Falls; her daughter, Phyllis Serifovic and her husband, Kasim of Little Falls; her daughter-in-law, Carol Van Gieson of Little Falls; her sister, Ann De Padova of Little Falls; her brother, Sam De Padova of Fair Lawn; and three grandchildren, Ginger Serifovic-Greco, Jennifer Van Gieson and Elia Serifovic.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 am from the Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls and 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Visiting will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Eva's Kitchen, 393 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07501.
