Richard Steven Prester, 66, of West Milford, on February 8, 2010.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Prester was raised in Garfield and lived there until 1972 when he moved to West Milford where he resided since. Prior to retiring fifteen years ago he had been employed as an Engineer and Director of Quality Control at Smith Industries, formerly in Florham Park. Previous employment was with Aircraft Radio in Boonton and Singer-Kearfott in Clifton. Mr. Prester was an avid Ham Radio operator and was a longtime member of the American Radio Relay League. He was a supporter of Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church in Hewitt.
Mr. Prester is survived by his wife, Sara (nee Fink), of West Milford; his son, Ashley C. Prester and his wife, Jackie, of Pawtucket, RI; his parents: Stephen J. and Elizabeth (nee Glagola) Prester of Garfield; his sister, Susan Cangialosi and her husband, John, of Elmwood Park; and his grandson, Alexander.
Funeral services will be 5:00 pm Friday evening at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. Private cremation to follow. Visiting Friday from 2-5 pm only. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, New Jersey 08691 would be appreciated.
