Piroska Vasarhelyi, 78, of Romania, died on March 6, 2010 while visiting her son in Passaic, New Jersey. Born in Romania, Mrs. Vasarhelyi was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Romania where she served as a church organist, choir leader and a member of the Women's Guild.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Jozsef Vasarhelyi in 2005.
Survivors include: her son, Rev. Jozsef Vasarhelyi and his wife, Maria of Passaic; her daughter, Piroska Vasarhelyi of Ontario, Canada; one brother, Ferenc Deme of Romania; one sister, Margit Vantsa of Romania; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 220 Fourth St., Passaic, NJ 07055. Visiting will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 515 Lexington Ave., Clifton. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hungarian Reformed Church.
